semangat. Futon. April 14th , 2018.
Futons as a category were born almost 25 years ago in the form of wood frames. These frames were simple and offered conversion from a sofa to bed by operation of the frame. Wood frame designs advanced much over the years and eventually led to wood futon frames that looked like conventional furniture. Many of these pieces of furniture borrowed from real world furniture construction techniques in the form of doweled construction, French dovetail joints and steel on steel hardware connections offering greater quality and flexibility in design and quality. The workmanship of these frames can easily be seen in the higher end models offered today and justifies the retail pricing you see for these pieces as being of the highest quality available in this category of furniture.
When the futon industry was born back in the 1980's, the frames were well thought out and well constructed. Whether it was softwoods or hardwoods, the frames featured good fundamental designs made from solid wood. These futon frames would incorporate new working mechanisms and ideas in operation that made futons appealing not only in their design but in the quality of materials and construction that went into them. The futon industry was doing well and growing with these frames heading into the 1990's but then the black metal futon frame came onto the scene.
Arm rests should be glued and screwed together. Remember that glue is an excellent bonding agent for a the type of wood your futon frame is likely made out of. Gluing and screwing a futon frame together is even more desirable. The screw not only adds reinforcement, but is drives the wooden pieces closer together acting like a vice while the glue dries before shipping.
Not only are you offered the chance to pick from a brilliant selection of styles and colors, but you can also choose from some very convenient design options. Some of the most popular varieties of futon designs include futon sofa sets for your living room and family room, lounger and fold-outs for your game room and man cave, futon chair sets for any room of your home and, of course, the traditional futon bed design. In addition, where many people have been faced with the budget killing challenge of being able to provide their guests with a suitable place to stay while they visit, futons provide an extremely convenient and affordable option. Now you can comfortably house guests any time without having to build an extra guest room or purchase an expensive bed set.
Futon frames that have slats that are 2.5\" wide should have at least twelve slats on the seat and twelve on the back for a total of 24 slats. Futons with 1.75\" slats should have at least 15 slats on the seat and 15 slats on the back for a total of 30 slats. If the slats are any thinner or if the respective futon you are considering has less slats than indicated here, you might want to ask why.
