After determining the functionality and the size, you can now look on other minor criteria like the style and design of the futon. Know which style of futon are you looking for, parallel it to your tastes and also your child's preferences. Futon may come in conventional or modern options. If you want to go with the more traditional appeal, you can select the ones with frames made from hardwood. If you prefer a modern and conventional style, go with metal or just simply have the combination if you want to have both features. Futon covers may also be important, you may want to have it patterned after the room's design or get one that is more eye-catching.
Not only are you offered the chance to pick from a brilliant selection of styles and colors, but you can also choose from some very convenient design options. Some of the most popular varieties of futon designs include futon sofa sets for your living room and family room, lounger and fold-outs for your game room and man cave, futon chair sets for any room of your home and, of course, the traditional futon bed design. In addition, where many people have been faced with the budget killing challenge of being able to provide their guests with a suitable place to stay while they visit, futons provide an extremely convenient and affordable option. Now you can comfortably house guests any time without having to build an extra guest room or purchase an expensive bed set.
At first it was widely regarded as a great addition to the futon family of products. Finally, a futon that could be offered at a much a lower price point. Black metal frames were being imported from China, Malaysia and Taiwan. Many of the early black metal frames were packaged with an import mattress made up of ground up textile materials and a colored covering with tufts. These packages were often anywhere in price from $199 - $249 and started out in specialty futon shops as a great way to introduce customers on a budget into a lower priced futon option. It was soon discovered though that these frames were not such a bargain that they appeared to be.
The primary purpose of a futon is to be a dual-purpose piece of furniture, one part sofa, and one part bed. They are ideally suited for those that are working with limited space or are looking for an inexpensive alternative to more traditional furniture designs. They are widely available through just about every furniture retailer in the country and can be found in styles that fit into most modern design categories, from contemporary to mission. This kind of variety almost guarantees that there is a futon design for every décor, as well as for every budget.
Having worked in retail and having worked in furniture stores carrying futons. I can honestly say that as a retailer it is very frustrating to know that stores still carry low end black metal frames. My intentions in this article are not to be harsh but I really hope retailers figure out that low end products made to hit a particular price point are not doing consumers or themselves any great service. Consumers deserve quality well made products at reasonable prices based on the materials and labor that went into that product. When this doesn't happen expectations aren't met. Disappointment and dissatisfaction soon follow and the consumer is left with a negative feeling towards the product. The intent of this article was to bring forth the experiences I've had with this product line not only from having retailed it but from what customers have shared with me about these products. I feel strongly that black metal futon frames should be avoided by both retailers and consumers alike. If you've had a negative experience with these frames I would encourage you to not judge the entire futon industry by these particular products. If you're a consumer I encourage you to shop a futon retailer or futon specialty store and discover the \"real\" world of futons and what they have to offer for both you and your home.
